Default Ring of Fire and the burned Necro

So up until now my MM N/Mo hasn't had too much issue going though all the missions with just henchies. But now I have run into a brick wall that I can't seem to get around. It's the damned Ether Seals and the Jades around them. Basically I assume that my minion master isn't cut out for this sort of mission, seeing how many people find the mission easy.

I try and agro the jades, and when I actually don't die in the process, the Jades simply go, "oh wait he left the AoE of the Ether Seal, let's turn around and go back". So basically I can't kill the Jades because of the seal and I can't kill the Seal because of the Jades. And this all seems pretty silly because most any reference I see to the selas is that they aren't that big of a deal...

So what can I do with my necro to get through this? I'm assuming that a different build is in order, but I can't guess what it is...thanks...

only thing you can do is get a real group and take 'blood is power' with you, that'll really help out your monk(s), because with 13 in blood magic, BiP gives +6 energy regen, which almost counters the effect of the ether seal, (-2 energy per sec and -1 energy regen, +6 regen is 2 energy per second, so in total the monk will have the equivalent on +3 e-regen (his natural +4 - 1) so your monk will be happy.
i'd also suggest bringing stuff like vampiric gaze etc, like touch skills that work at a distance.
i think you'll have to abandon the MM approach on this, as the seals just make it pretty impossible with minions AND henchies, you might be able to get a real group with a ranger than can lure the jade out to your minions, but you yourself cant do it because your minions will follow

I got a guildmate going to try and help me tonight. I'll see if I can set up a load out like you mention as well. Thanks for the advice.

I like to use spiteful spirit alot....and life siphon (helps versus the seals a bit) and then go with a group with a good ele. So yeah, mm is not so good here.

Yeah, dump MM, go for SS, at least for the RoF mission(s). That should help ya take out the groups of jade/mursaat.

I did try a ew times with the first suggested build, but Ithink due to my inexperienece with it, it didn't work for me. Well I got a nuker to do most of the work. I primarily did healing breeze, deadly swarm and Life Siphon. I did still pull minions, for fodder, as time and energy allowed. Don't think that "I" could have done this with just henchies. Perhaps after practicing a curses or blood build for a while I could have. But I'm glad to have it over. Thanks for all of the assistance.

But man that nuker just walked though everything....

Henches work well with the RoF mission, you just *need* to keep your casters outside the AoE of the seal. Bring a longbow, plink the jade, and instantly run about half an aggro circle outside the seal AoE. With luck, your warriors will be inside the AoE fighting the Jades, and your casters outside. If they're not, run off, regroup, and try again. When the jades are down, retreat and let everyone heal up before attacking the seal itself.

The most difficult one is where there's a boss + jades by the seal. The easiest there is to run straight through, because the boss is the only one who'll follow you out of the AoE on the other side, so you can kill it without having to worry about the other mobs or the seal degen.

Finally, the Vizir will give you a "good advice" a bit in to the mission. If you're henching, you want to ignore his advice, and do exactly what he says you shouldn't, because the road the Vizir suggests is *much* harder to hench.

Minions IME don't work so well in RoF because they're being degened so much. I'd go N/Me, with 16 curses, 7 inspiration. Tactic would be to arcane-echo spiteful spirit on everything, and bring Power Drain to interrupt long enemy casts (like Meteor Shower, Life Siphon and Migraine).

As others have said, this isn't a good place for minions. The only places you shouldn't run minions are the Fire Islands, and the south part of Knessex Peak, where Galrath/Verata live.

Minions aren't infused and REALLY don't like lava. Plus, there are few exploitable corpses out there.

(Although you could probably run them quite well once past the lava/seals/jades in certain areas......hmmmm)
